Ibrahim ibn Ash'ath: 'Whenever we went out with al-Fudayl to a funeral, he would continously advice and remind the people, and he would weep such that he became like someone leaving his companions behind, on his way to the Hereafter. This would be so until he reached the graves (during the funeral procession), whereupon he would sit as if he were among the dead - he'd sit in sadness and in tears until when it was time for him to go, it was if he had returned from the Hereafter with some news.'
